Tomintoul 15 Year Old 2008 Tawny Port Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Dark chocolate-coated cherries, stewed fruit, woody spices, and cinnamon swirls.

Palate: Red fruit sweetness leads the way with notes of dried summer fruits and tangy rhubarb, followed by a touch of Turkish Delight, honeyed nuts, vanilla cream, and cocoa.

Finish: Walnuts, toasted marzipan, warming spice, a touch of cassis, coffee, and cacao.

Distillery Information

Tomintoul (pronounced tom-in-TOWEL) was built in 1964, under the ownership of Hay & Macleod and W & S Strong, in the village of the same name, which itself is one of Scotlands highest, at an altitude of 345m (1132 feet). Drawing its water from the Ballantruan Spring, the whisky distillery sits in rugged terrain; jagged undulations surround and are specked with many a wooded clump.
