Producer Information

The winery Emil Bauer & Shne is a family business, which today is run by Martin and Alexander Bauer in the third generation. The winery was founded by the brothers’ grandfather, Emil Bauer, in the 1920s. Emil Bauer’s sons steadily expanded the winery, and Alexander and Martin, for their part, have added a modern touch to the family business. While Alexander, as an oenologist, is largely responsible for the vineyards, which cover more than 30 hectares in the picturesque Palatinate village of Nudorf, just below the wine route, Martin Bauer knows how to hold his own in the business as a marketing expert. The teamwork works: in addition to palatable, harmonious wines, the new label design and snotty, provocative slogans score all kinds of plus points. The winemaker duo shows that the Palatinate can also be different – and we are curious to see what else will follow.
