Domaine Lcheneaut is a Burgundy winery based in Nuits-Saint-Georges known for its Pinot Noir. It farms 10 hectares (25 acres) of vineyards in 18 different appellations in the Cte de Nuits. Lcheneaut also grows small amounts of Chardonnay and Aligot within its portfolio. The domaine was founded at the end of the 1950s by Fernand Lcheneaut with a little more than 2ha (5 acres) of vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. During its early years, the domaine sold bulk wine to ngociants. In the 1980s, Fernand’s sons Philippe and Vincent took over and in 1987 began expanding the domaine’s vineyard holdings, while beginning to bottle wines at the estate. The new Lcheneaut plots included several premier cru vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin. Lcheneaut favors de-stemming, but occasionally, conditions have led some wines to be fermented in whole clusters. Indigenous yeasts begin the fermentation after the grapes are cold-soaked for a number of days. The wines are aged for around 18 months in French oak, with the premier and grand cru wines seeing a higher percentage of new oak. The wines are bottled without fining or filtering. Domaine Lcheneaut has an annual production of roughly 5000 cases.
