Complex nose, smoky, spicy, subtle wood, fine notes of yeast, citrus fruits, also malty notes, what a scent. The palate is very compact, a mouthful of wine, very rich, well structured, wonderful acidity and, despite the opulence, with a lot of elegance. The finish is extremely long, rocky and shows great balance.
The Geoffroy House has its origins dating back to the early 17th century on the lands of the commune of Cumires, in the heart of the Valle de la Marne. Since then, the winegrowing know-how has been passed on from generation to generation and today, Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy and his wife Karine, accompanied by their daughters, watch over their 14 hectares vineyard with passion. They produce Champagnes “of winemaker” as we like to say, that is to say authentic and bearers of a history that is found even in their taste of terroir. The Village of Cumires is the anchor of the Geoffroy family in the 17th century. Generations follow one another but it is really only in the early 1950s that Ren Geoffroy and his wife Julienne decide to elaborate their own Champagne, thus the Geoffroy brand is born. Their son Ren succeeded his parents at the head of the company and acquired new parcels of vines in order to develop his business properly. His son Jean-Baptiste took over at the end of the 1980s, having graduated in viticulture and oenology. With his wife Karine, he decided to transfer the activity of Maison Geoffroy to A in 2008. Today, they gradually transmit their passion and know-how to their 5 daughters who will embody a fifth generation of winemakers.
