Veuve du Vernay is a range of French sparkling wines owned by the house of Patriarche, a Beaune-based wine company that is in turn owned by conglomerate Groupe Castel. The wines are produced in Bordeaux and exported to more than 60 countries worldwide. There are six sparkling Veuve du Vernay wines: Brut, Ros, Demi-Sec, traditional method Chardonnay, Ice and Ice Ros. The brand’s Ice sparkling wine is produced from a blend of Ugni Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Folle Blanche, and its Ros equivalent is produced from a blend of Syrah, Cinsaut and Grenache. The flagship Brut sparkling wine is produced with Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Veuve du Vernay produces most of its wines using the Charmat method, most famously used to produce Prosecco. Only the Chardonnay sparkling wine is produced by the traditional method where the wine ages in bottle for nine months on its lees before disgorgement.
