Straw yellow in color with possible coppery highlights. On the nose it is fragrant, layered and concentrated with notes of ripe pear and spring flowers that unfold to reveal a subtle end note of bread crust. In the mouth it is elegant and supple with savory characteristics. It is well balanced and uncompromising with a fairly long aromatic finish.
A rich landowner of noble origins, a friar and a piece of land on which to build the first monastery in the area of Farra dIsonzo this is how the ancient legend that gave the estate its name came into existence. A more recent story begins in 1975 with the establishment of Borgo Conventi and with the promise to produce fine and elegant wines. A commitment, reasserted in 2001 when the estate was acquired by the Folonari family, which translated into a boost in production while maintaining utmost respect for the tradition and the origins. For many months the wines age in French or Slavonian oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. The state-of-the-art winery of Tenuta Borgo Conventi, is housed in a farm building that was renovated in 1990. The winery currently produces over 300,000 bottles of wine a year.
