Reviews:
Chteau Hosanna is a Bordeaux wine estate in the Pomerol appellation. It was created in 1999 when Chteau Certan Giraud was purchased by established Bordeaux ngociant tablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix. One part was renamed Hosanna, with the other two hectares (five acres) becoming Chteau Certan Marzelle. The property faces Ptrus (also part of the Moueix stable) and lies between Lafleur and Vieux Chteau Certan. There are 4.5 hectares (11 acres) of vines at Hosanna, on soils made up of red gravel with layers of clay and some sand (the famed, iron-based “crasse de fer” soils of the appellation). The vineyard is planted with 70 percent Merlot and a relatively high 30 percent Cabernet Franc. The large component of the latter in the wine leads to Hosanna’s reputation as a more delicate counterpart to Ptrus.
